Mario has extensive experience in corporate finance, business consulting and technology, having worked for global and Chilean companies in various economic sectors both as an employee and consultant.
These sectors include but are not limited to, Pension Administrator (AFP), Higher Education, Information Technology (IT), Retail, Investment Management, Security Systems, Engineering, Construction, Architecture & Design, and Mining supplies.
Mario stays up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends to provide innovative and efficient solutions. Student – PhD in Engineering Program.
Experienced in the American Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX):
- Mario completed professional development training from KPMG and Laureate in the United States. He has successfully implemented or upgraded four entities in Chilean branches to achieve SOX compliance.
- Implementation and Control of the SOX Law at UDLA Chile, member of Laureate Education Inc., USA. (Standards: COSO, COBIT and PCAOB – SEC) (Scope: ELC, Risk Matrix, EE.FF., Operations, IT, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct) (Position: Director of Risk Management & SOX).
- SOX Implementation at the AIEP Institute (Chile), member of Laureate Education Inc., USA.
- SOX Implementation at ITT Fluid Technology S.A. (Engineering Company), member of ITT Corporation, USA. (ITT Chile).
- SOX Law update in AFP CUPRUM (Pensions), a subsidiary of Principal Financial Group, USA (subcontracted by ACENDER Consultores).
He served as Director of Risk Management & SOX for a global education company, overseeing operations from Chile to the US and collaborating with the Big Four. He was also a member of the Regional Audit Committee.
Besides, he gained experience in Corporate Finance, holding positions such as CFO, Administration and Budget Director, and Head of Management Control and Budget Department in significant organizations in Chile. He has served as CFO in both a Sports Facility Management company and a Mental Health Medical Center.
Also, he has vast experience in managing the corporate budget process for at least five higher education institutions -two Universities and three Professional Institutes- in Chile. He specializes in designing, analyzing, automating, optimizing,
controlling, and reporting on large organizations with significant budgets. In
addition to this, Mario has developed projects to connect and automate budget
modules with purchasing and ERP systems.
In his first professional stage, he worked in several IT and Internet
application development companies in Chile and has acquired considerable experience in project management for important clients, including Banks, Insurance Companies (Life), Health Insurance Companies (ISAPRE), Mining Companies, and Government Agencies, among others. He has been involved in various areas such as business, projects, products, and production.
